The Arc of Mary Magdalene | A Portal Into the Divine Feminine

The Arc of Mary Magdalene emerges from the living continuum of my artistic journey, a journey I have been documenting since childhood as a kind of map of consciousness. Every work I create becomes a marker, a timestamped point on a trail of inner exploration. Like a voyager charting unknown waters or an astronaut recording new worlds, I use art to document the territories of awareness I encounter along the way. My archive is both diary and compass, revealing where I have traveled and what dimensions of the inner expanse have unfolded.

This work reflects that ongoing process of exploration. Over a lifetime I have engaged many modes of travel, meditative disciplines, shamanic lineages, and the full spectrum of creative mediums, to navigate the landscapes within. The Arc of Mary Magdalene is one such encounter recorded. It is not simply a symbol but an access point, a portal constructed through integrated mediums, movement, sound resonance, mandala-like visual geometries, and sculptural form, designed to awaken the senses and invite the viewer into an immersive presence. The work functions only when one enters it with attention, allowing distractions to fall away so that a bridge may form: consciousness meeting consciousness.

The title itself expresses four intertwined dimensions:

•the arc of the body, the back-bent posture of ecstasy

•the arc of narrative, the redemptive journey of Mary Magdalene

•the geometric arc, the curved sacred lines within the moving structure

•the ark, a vessel of the divine feminine, echoing the archetypal Ark of the Covenant

A deep source of inspiration for this piece is Giovanni Strazza’s Veiled Virgin, that astonishing 19th-century marble sculpture whose veil seems lighter than breath. Its porcelain delicacy became a spark for my own path, not to reproduce reality, as the masters have already perfected, but to venture beyond replication into the realm of the visionary. Art, for me, is not about an ability to draw or sculpt realistically; it is about expanding perception and following the heart as guide. The heart is the only compass that gives me the right to sign my name to the work.

As an artist-explorer, I hold that creativity can only evolve when one dares to leave the familiar shore. Returning to the same island may offer comfort, but true exploration begins where the known ends. This work arises from that impulse, to push beyond boundaries, to let the heart expand, to touch the light that reveals itself only to those willing to step into the unknown.

The Arc of Mary Magdalene is ultimately a living bridge: an expression of unconditional divine feminine love, the primordial creative force, the muse, the Mother, the inner feminine who opens the gateway to the unconscious where authentic images and symbols are born. The Divine Feminine is not merely an influence, it is the portal through which creation itself enters the world. This work stands as a vessel for that light, a manifestation of the feminine principle that births worlds and awakens the deepest truth of what it means to create.
