What Is Intuition
“Intuition is the quiet intelligence we begin to recognize when the mind becomes clear enough to listen.”
Most of us are educated to strengthen the intellect. We learn to analyze, compare, memorize, reason, and solve problems. Yet another familiar human experience receives far less attention: intuition.
We may call it a gut feeling, an inner knowing, a creative insight, or a sense of direction that appears before we can fully explain why. Love and Truth approaches intuition not as something to believe in, but as something to become sensitive to through direct experience.
The difficulty is that the thinking mind can become very loud. Worry, judgment, planning, memory, and constant mental activity can dominate our attention so completely that subtler signals are difficult to recognize. What we call intuition may already be present, but we may have lost some of the sensitivity needed to hear it clearly.
This is why Love and Truth begins with alignment.
Through daily exercises, body, heart, and mind return toward an open, relaxed, and alert state of presence. The body releases unnecessary tension, the heart becomes more receptive, and the mind becomes clearer and less consumed by its own activity. Active meditation carries this state into everyday life.
Within this quieter inner environment, intuition can become easier to distinguish.
Love and Truth describes the heart as an inner GPS. This does not replace reason. The intellect remains an essential co-pilot, capable of examining information, questioning assumptions, and translating insight into practical action. But it does not need to dominate the entire system.
Learning intuition also means learning the difference between intuition and impulse.
Impulse often arrives with urgency, fear, appetite, anger, or the demand for immediate satisfaction. Intuition tends to be quieter. It may appear as a subtle feeling, an unexpected clarity, a creative possibility, or a simple sense of the next step. Through practice and experience, we become better able to recognize the difference.
This becomes especially important when entering the unknown.
The intellect can work brilliantly with what it already knows, but the Hero’s Journey continually leads us beyond familiar territory. Creativity, innovation, problem solving, and discovering our individual path often require us to remain receptive to possibilities that could not have been planned in advance.
Love and Truth asks us to develop awareness, listen carefully, remain discerning, and observe through experience what happens when mind, heart, and body are brought into coherence.
Over time, trust grows not from belief, but from living the practice and recognizing the quality of guidance that emerges.
Clear the mind, open the heart, listen beneath the noise, and allow intuition to become a trusted compass alongside reason as you discover the path that is uniquely yours.
