Reclining Nude With Luminance

Dissolving the photographic element as the mechanics of art creation falls under the scrutiny of what is real and that which comes from the language called artificial. This work weaves the two, perhaps unable to be distinguished from which hand is touching the medium of the other. Even if the persona is in question, however, it always was. The identity we see is framed in personality and behavior, communicated by behavior, geometry, and disposition. Dissolves as the masters did, by melting the egoic membrane, so that an immeasurable essence which can not be understood by the intellect is however the very nature of existence. Thus the portrait that captures the essence of the person you see is not seen just as what you see is not the essence, instead, we reverberate into our own refractionary mind, an interpretation. This work lives nonetheless, touched by the artist and something beyond, for which I prefer alien but not artificial as there is nothing synthetic about this work.
