• This portrait of the Virgin Mary came to be when my sister sent me an old damaged pastel drawing that had been on the wall of our nyc apartment forever, original artist unknown ( might have been my grandmothers). I transformed the tattered piece into “a working positive” that became the base for this work. Not a restoration, more of an evolution collaboration. A kind of baton exchange from one generation of artist into the next. .
