Created as a Mother’s Day offering, Still Life Peonies: Eternal Love is a meditation on lineage, maternal love, and the invisible bonds that continue beyond physical life.

This work was inspired by the story of Aunti Alice, whose loving care helped shape my mother’s capacity for tenderness and mothering. In understanding her role in my family’s emotional inheritance, I came to recognize how deeply her love extended into my own life.

As with my meditative art practice, this piece emerged through surrender into presence, guided by stillness, intuition, and the subtle movements of the natural world. Surrounded by the sound of chimes, birdsong, and butterflies passing through the garden, the artwork became both an offering and a communion.

Though peonies, my mother’s favorite flower, became the visual form, the words eternal love  as seen in the work, arose intuitively during the process, revealing the deeper essence of the art: love as an enduring force, carried through generations and held within the heart.
