Trust The Flow

“Trust the Flow” was the name of one of my first solo art exhibitions back in 1995. It featured hundreds of “flow line face drawings,” and this idea remains central to the practice of Love and Truth today. At its heart, it’s about letting go of resistance and staying in a positive, open state.

Imagine if you could position yourself so that every experience, no matter what it is, has the potential to help you grow. This is a powerful shift in thinking. Often, we block opportunities and solutions because of our own beliefs, our ideas about how life “should” be. When we resist what’s happening, it’s like we’re closing the door to possibilities. But when we trust that everything is unfolding perfectly, we open the door to creativity, insight, and opportunity that we couldn’t even imagine before.

The key is to trust reality as it is, without judging it as “good” or “bad.” When we do this, life stops feeling like a struggle. Challenges transform into stepping stones for growth, and the journey becomes an enjoyable flowing experience.

In my flow line drawing exercises, this idea is brought to life. The act of drawing becomes a way to practice letting go. Each line, brushstroke, or color is applied without judgment, just presence and trust. If tension arises, it’s noticed and released, allowing the body, heart, and mind to return to a state of alignment. This flow state feels like harmony, where your higher mind guides you, free from the lower mind’s tendency to judge everything it perceives.

With practice, this flow state becomes familiar, like a skill you’ve trained your body to do. Over time, it becomes second nature, and you can activate it in any situation, whether you’re creating art or navigating life’s challenges. This is where art transforms into a way of living, a way to create beauty, possibility, and peace not just on paper but in your everyday life.
