Face Sculpture 8 5 23

Abstract faces have been a part of my creative process since my early 20’s.
.
A drawing practice that surrenders thought ( the judging, designing process) and let’s the hand wander freely with pen and brush, line and color. This creative exercise trains awareness to follow the intuitive heart instead of the discriminating intellect.
.
Therefore I refer to this practice as a flow dynamic exercise and these faces become a portraiture of energy / resonance / essence, rather than an interpretive reflection of the material external form.
.
Early exhibitions of these works (Flow Line Faces) were often referred to as “Soul Portraits”.
