This work reveals exploratory processes in the merging of traditional asian brush and ink with drawn line and painting processes merged with photographic mediums and darkroom processes.

The bold black lines are created from my intuitive experimentations with Sumi-E (traditional brush painting from Japan and China) to capture chi energy in the brush strokes. .

To merge these traditional processes with explorations into the unknown qualities of the future. .

I often refer to this dichotomy in my work as ancient – future, as a series, approach and state of being.
