DIVINE ARCHETYPE II: Electric Venus
Divine Archetype II: Electric Venus
Life-size moving-image sculpture, 2026
Photography, painting, body painting, sculpture, digital assemblage, moving image, Flow Line process, and emerging technologies.
The work may also be realized as a life-size archival photographic edition, allowing the image to exist independently as a physical framed work.
Artist Statement
This work explores a human being in transformation, caught between the organic, the mechanical, and the unknown.
Photography, painting, drawing, and emerging technological processes are merged into a single image, much like the figure itself is merging flesh, machine, memory, nature, and constructed form. Crystals, trees, mechanical parts, glass, metal, landscape, and the human body coexist within the same visual field.
The figure appears to be pushing through this transformation, almost like grass finding its way through concrete toward light. For me, this is the life force, the instinct within living things to survive, adapt, expand, and become.
The work is not simply a warning about technology. I am interested in the tension between possibility and loss. As technology becomes increasingly integrated with the human body and mind, what might we gain, and what part of ourselves must we be careful not to surrender?
Perhaps the real question is not whether humanity becomes more technological, but whether we remain fully human while doing so.
“We can evolve, transform, and enter entirely new forms of existence, but we must remember where the pulse of life comes from.”
At the center of the work is that question of awareness: how do we move into the future without losing the inner connection that gives life meaning, beauty, and soul?
