DIVINE ARCHETYPE I

DIVINE ARCHETYPE I

Life-size moving-image sculpture, 2026

Divine Archetype I explores the human form as sacred archetype ,  a vessel of consciousness, beauty, creation, and life.

The work brings together threads that have moved through my practice for decades: photography, painting, sculpture, material assemblage, the painted human body, Flow Line drawing, active meditation, and an ongoing exploration of emerging technologies as extensions of the creative process.

For more than thirty years, I have worked directly with the human body as a living, three-dimensional canvas, painting upon the figure and photographing its transformation. Alongside this practice, I have continually searched for ways to translate the physical presence of the body into new dimensional forms.

Earlier experiments involved placing the human figure upon a custom-built rotating platform to photograph the body spatially, followed by explorations with a specially engineered spherical structure containing hundreds of professional cameras capable of capturing the figure from multiple perspectives simultaneously. These complex systems opened extraordinary possibilities while also revealing the technological limitations of their time.

Those experiments became part of a continuing trail of exploration.

Today, emerging digital and generative technologies allow me to move further into visions that have lived in my imagination for many years. Rather than replacing traditional processes, these technologies become additional materials within the studio — another form of pigment, lens, movement, light, and dimensional space.

In Divine Archetype I, the figure slowly rotates as though standing upon a sculptor’s pedestal. Photography becomes sculpture. Painting becomes body. The still image enters motion. Physical and digital processes merge into an object that occupies a space somewhere between image, sculpture, apparition, and living presence.

At the center of the work is the feminine form ,  not simply as representation of the body, but as an archetype of creation: the sacred vessel through which human life enters the world.

The work reflects my continuing interest in building bridges: between ancient archetype and emerging technology, material and immaterial, body and consciousness, traditional practice and experimentation.

For me, innovation is not the pursuit of technology for its own sake. It is the pursuit of possibilities that allow an inner vision to move closer toward physical realization.

Divine Archetype I is an expression of that lifelong exploration,   reaching into the meeting place of imagination, consciousness, material, and technological possibility.

Photography, painting, body painting, sculpture, digital assemblage, moving image, Flow Line process, and emerging technologies.

The work may also be realized as a life-size archival photographic edition, allowing the image to exist independently as a physical framed work.
