Venus Reborn

Venus Reborn is a series of photographic artworks expressing the chi essence (life force / sexual energy) of the divine feminine with museum integrity. To reclaim sensuality as sacred and counter the deficiency of goddess archetypes in culture. A celebration of the liberated feminine heart, free from suppression, to be empowered as a symbol of the new Venus Reborn.

Venus as a Vision of the Future

Venus as a vision of the future is humanity resonating towards balance and harmony. Imagine that the world’s current challenges are in part due to an over emphasized masculine dynamic. Some examples of this are demonstrated by a more polarized society that is less cooperative and the excessive force that is used to solve problems instead of communication. ( Perhaps it was the reshaping of the divine as a masculine centric force 2000 years ago that slowly contributed to the current state of imbalance?)

Visualize a thriving future where feminine qualities play a more balanced, integrative, unifying and cooperative role in cultural dynamics.

Venus Reborn is a contemporary inspired expression of ancient feminine mythology. A purposeful re emergence of the Venutian divine archetype depicted in the visual languages of our time frame. The white body paint on the skin allows the image of the nude to transcend human physicality, resembling that of classical figurative sculpture. The sacred geometric lines and enso like brush strokes of color represent a futuristic mandala-esque approach. A visual key that proposes to open and broaden the viewers perception. As once stated “Where there is no vision, a society perishes”. Therefore art is our cultural medecine.

Venus Reborn as Art Therapy

Cutting is a complex behavior that can be associated with a non-loving dysfunctional self perception often associated with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, low self esteem, a history of abuse and or thoughts of committing suicide. Self harm is growing at an alarming rate in the United States and more common than one might think with an estimated range of 6.4% to 30.8% acknowledging to harm themselves. The eye sees what the heart feels. The figurative art making process is a journey of awakening the profound beauty that is in every human being regardless of age, size or past experience.
