Gregory Beylerian Turns Childhood Wonder Into Moving Light in Abyss Nodes / Childhood Visions. Now on Sedition
Two new video editions revisit the album covers that first opened the artist’s imagination, Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy and Duran Duran’s Rio, through active meditation, digital animation, artificial intelligence and composed sound.
Release date: 2 October 2026 | Collection live: 1 October 2026, Sedition | Artist: Gregory Beylerian
October 2, 2026, artist Gregory Beylerian has released Abyss Nodes / Childhood Visions, his second release on Sedition, pioneering digital art by world leading artists since 2012. The two new limited video editions continue his Abyss Node body of work and follow The Abyss Node Collection, his first Sedition collection, which has sold more than half of its editions, a second release driven by collector momentum rather than novelty alone.
Each work is offered in an edition of 14 at $70. Both are available now through the artist’s Sedition profile, where collectors can view, acquire and display the moving image works as certified digital editions.
A childhood doorway into seeing
As a child, Beylerian spent hours listening to records and studying their covers. The vinyl sleeve became an immersive space, attention deepened, images opened into imagined worlds, and looking itself became an intuitive form of meditation. Childhood Visions returns to that doorway, bringing the dreaming child and the adult creator into a single creative process.
The two works trace distinct pathways into imagination that those early encounters offered, transforming the material world into extraordinary visions, and exploring the expressive possibilities of visual language itself.
Abyss Node 120425
Inspired by Elton John’s Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, whose fantastical imagery transformed bodies, creatures and objects into extraordinary visions. Fantastical, amorphous forms carry the influence of Hieronymus Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights into motion.
Abyss Node 120625
Inspired by the artist’s adolescent discovery of Duran Duran’s Rio, where bold colour, distilled shapes and graphic space drew his attention toward abstraction, a visual language carried here in the colour spirit of the modern painters of 1950s Paris and New York.
Active meditation, the method behind the tools
Beylerian’s practice is defined by a love of tools and mediums, and by what makes them meaningful. Paintbrushes, digital animation and artificial intelligence give these motion based paintings their momentum and kinetic dynamics, while composed music integrates the senses into a single immersive experience. Yet the tools, he insists, are empty without the process that animates them.
That process is what he calls active meditation, a method developed over a lifetime, first realised as a child, a state of presence without the noise of an active intellect. Where adult consciousness is filled with memory, conditioning and judgement, active meditation restores the purity of observation that lets awareness move beyond the surface of the material world into deeper layers of consciousness.
The works function as bridges, between the seven year old self and the fully emerged adult, between 16th century fantastical painting and emerging technology, between form and formlessness. Each Abyss Node is a point of departure and return, a lucid journey into the unknown, brought back as imagery.
“My intention is to invite the viewer into a spacious encounter where presence deepens, imagination opens, and the heart becomes receptive to wonder.”
