Observe and Choose
“Awareness creates the space to see what is present without allowing everything we see to determine the direction we take.”
We enter life before a developed personal identity has taken form. As we grow, family, culture, religion, education, language, politics, relationships, and experience gradually shape the way we understand ourselves and the world around us.
Much of this conditioning is useful. It gives us belonging, knowledge, values, and ways of participating in society. Yet some of what we inherit can also become an invisible boundary around what we believe is possible. Difficult experiences and unresolved wounds can further shape beliefs and reactions until patterns formed in the past begin directing the present.
Love and Truth develops another capacity: observe and choose.
The purpose is not to abandon our identity or reject the culture that helped shape us. Instead, through daily alignment exercises and active meditation, we cultivate enough awareness to recognize the difference between the accumulated identity and the deeper Authentic Self.
We bring body, heart, and mind toward an open, relaxed, and alert state of presence. As the system moves toward coherence, clarity can emerge naturally, the heart becomes more receptive to intuitive guidance, and awareness gains enough spaciousness to observe what is happening without immediately becoming identified with it.
This creates choice.
A belief can arise without becoming a command. Fear can appear without determining the path. We can encounter opinions, behaviors, cultural expectations, and possibilities we do not prefer without needing to fight them or unconsciously align with them.
We observe what is present and consciously choose what resonates with the truth of who we are.
Without this awareness, life can easily operate on a kind of autopilot. The identified self, shaped by conditioning, memory, fear, and past experience, takes the controls. Love and Truth does not seek to destroy this identity. It changes the relationship. Awareness becomes captain, the intellect becomes co-pilot, the heart provides intuitive direction, and the body carries the choice into action.
The more this capacity develops, the more possibilities become visible. We begin recognizing where an inherited belief ends and an authentic desire begins. We can appreciate what our history has given us while releasing what no longer needs to determine our future.
This is essential to conscious creation. Dream and reality begin moving toward one another as our choices increasingly reflect the path of the heart rather than the momentum of conditioning.
This is also the essence of the Hero’s Journey: discovering the courage to follow a path that cannot simply be inherited or borrowed.
Breathe into presence, observe without becoming identified, choose from the heart, and allow the Authentic Self to become the captain of the life you are creating.
