Flow Line Faces 06 13 26
Flow Line Faces are my “active meditation” drawing exercises, a practice I have cultivated since my early twenties. They are meditative sequences in which both the creative process and the completed drawings become the artwork itself. Each piece is signed, and many include writings on the reverse side, capturing reflections born from the same spontaneous state of creation.
The entire practice is rooted in surrender to the present moment, moving with trust and courage, without preconceived ideas of what will be written or drawn. Equally important is the release of judgment toward the lines, forms, and words that emerge, allowing the experience to remain a genuine expression of the moment, free from interference by the “lower mind.”
The practice is designed to deepen one’s relationship with intuition and to cultivate trust in its guidance while traversing the unknown. The drawings and writings arise through spontaneity, allowing the artist to become more like a channel for higher dimensions of the self rather than the conditioned patterns of the lower self.
At the heart of this practice is an essential distinction: we follow the love and wisdom of the heart, rather than the fear, judgment, and opinion of the mind. This is the way of my Flow Line Faces.
Truth Is the Greater Power 7/16/26
“The only way to confront power without becoming corrupted by it is through Truth.”
When power is used to control, intimidate, or silence, our first impulse may be to fight it with equal force. Yet when we meet domination through hatred, deception, or revenge, we begin to imitate the very power we oppose. The conflict may change sides, but its underlying nature remains the same.
The Love and Truth Practice offers another way. Love protects the heart from becoming consumed by hatred, while Truth gives us the clarity to reveal what power attempts to conceal. Together, they allow us to stand firmly without surrendering our humanity.
Truth is not merely an opinion or a weapon used to defeat another person. It is the willingness to see clearly, speak honestly, and act in alignment with what we know to be right. False power depends upon fear, confusion, secrecy, and the silence of those who recognize what is happening. Truth removes these protections by bringing reality into the light.
This requires courage. Speaking truth may disturb comfort, challenge authority, or place us outside the safety of agreement. Yet silence also carries consequences. When fear prevents truthful action, power is permitted to continue without resistance.
Through active meditation, we first address the power struggle within ourselves. We recognize anger, fear, and the desire for retaliation, then return the body, heart, and mind to an open, relaxed, and alert state of presence. From this center, we can respond rather than react. Our actions become guided by conscience instead of vengeance.
Truth does not always speak loudly. It may appear as a clear boundary, an honest question, a refusal to participate, or the courage to reveal what others would prefer remain hidden. Its strength comes not from aggression but from integrity.
Power may control circumstances for a time, but it cannot permanently control what has been clearly seen and courageously expressed. Love keeps us from becoming what we resist. Truth gives us the strength to stand.
The purpose is not to overpower power. It is to reveal what power cannot survive: the light of Truth.
