The award includes a Lucie and a $10,000 grand prize. In an effort to cultivate and showcase emerging talent, all non-professional entries are also eligible for theNew Discovery of the Year Award, lauding best up-and-coming artist, which includes a Lucie and a $5,000 cash prize.In addition to these top prizes, all entrants will compete for Certificates of Achievement in eight major categories: Editorial, Advertising, Nature, Architecture, Portraiture, Specialty Media, Fine Art and Photography Book (professional category only).

The international photography community will pay tribute to the year's most outstanding photography achievements presented at the Gala Awards ceremony. Honors will also be given for Lifetime Achievement, distinguishing some of the world's greatest men and women whose life's work in fashion, photojournalism, advertising and fine art merit the highest acclaim by their peers. The winners of the
International Photographer of the Year™ andthe New Discovery of the Year awards will also each receive a Lucie. Annual IPA Awards Book Publication & Gallery ExhibitsAward-winning entries will be published in the high-quality, full-color, hardcover Annual International Photography Awards Book, distributed throughout the international professional community and exhibited in some of the most prestigious galleries and bookstores.
