SAMOHI WIND ENSEMBLES PERFORMS AT CARNEGIE HALL, NYC
On Memorial Day Weekend, 2007, the Santa Monica High School Wind Ensemble traveled across the nation to the glorious New York City. The Ensemble, containing around 75 members went sight seeing and touring throughout the city. Walking onto that stage, and seeing the scarlet seats and rings of light was inspirational and just about jaw dropping. However, the most glorious event of all was sitting on that stage and knowing that over a century ago Tchaikovsky performed on that stage for the Halls opening night. Creating music in a hall so spectacular was a once in a lifetime opportunity and could not have been possible without the community's donations, support, and efforts. Thank you, otherwise, this amazing trip would have never occurred.
